Welling High designs

We decided to create our own badge to represent our school, because we created the school we also then had to make a badge to represent it. We used photo shop to make this an used iconic styles and patterns of a typical american high school badge. We added the schools colours red and blue to make the badge stand out, the bold colours helps make a eye-catching image to the font of the book, which is where it will be placed.

Just having a badge on the front cover we thought would be too plain and boring, so we decided to place our name on the front of a american high school to really emphasise the setting and give the audience the idea that it is a real american school.

story board - Welling High

For our title sequence we needed to plan out how each shot would look, and here is our story board. the drawings demonstrate  how our title sequence will go, as you can see the book is being passed to different characters in our film. starting with the freak, she takes it to sit down and read then she throws it away because she sees the popular girls page and puts it in the bin. the jock then picks it out of the bin to then read it and leaves it on the side, then the popular girls pick it up and so on. All characters hold and read the book each which makes up the video. the story board also explains what each page is set up like, for example the prom page is shown in detail. from stickers to text by reading the story board you get a idea of how the title sequence will go.

Continuity Sequence

This task was set for us as group to get used to different camera shot types. we were told to create a short film sequence of using a two shot camera shot, in a scenario. our scenario was a teacher having a meeting with a student who has been getting in trouble in their lessons, and the two shot helped our performance commence.

The two shot show the difference between the characters, by switching the camera angles back and forth from the opposite persons point of view really emphasised the performance. A shot we all showed was the student walking in the door and we filmed from the outside, then the student coming in the door from the inside.

The two shot was filmed successfully and we found it easy to do. the two shot was then included in our tile sequence and might be used in the short film we are making as well.
